Sweden drinks for Christmas

In Sweden, one no longer at Christmas and during the festival Fluids than usual in the year. The difference is that one already on the whole of December, and especially Christmas dinner, drinks increases to the one during the year rarely or not at all drunk. Christmas in Sweden is also expressed in the beverage choice.

The most important drink of the holiday season is of course the Julmust who dethroned in that time, all other drinks. According to all polls, the Swedish Julmust absolute favorite drink of Sweden, said many people forget that the Julmust also contains 0.3% alcohol, a lot which are not noted for the alcohol laws of the land on the bottles must, but so many can still be fatal.

beer you drink in Sweden since the time of the Vikings, even if at the time the drink made with honey. Today we drink in Sweden in December, the so-called Christmas beer ( julöl ), which is brewed only for this period. Originally it was purely of dark beer, which is also used for the preparation of the typical Swedish Mumma. At the Christmas table should therefore not miss Christmas beer, which even in the smallest breweries is still in production.

And then you drink at Christmas, of course Glögg , which is marketed in various preparations in Sweden. While it was obvious early red Glögg with almonds and raisins to drink, is now established, more and more white and cognac Glögg Glögg. Although the Glögg Competition every year a little more growing, so is the wine of Glögg Blossa still be the best Glögg Sweden and also sells best.

For relatively thick and rich Christmas dinner of course you need a drink, which is translated in Sweden usually with Akvavit. Christmas is one of the four moments of the year in which Sweden Akvavit comes to the table. Even if drinking a lot of one of the three brands, "classic" distilled spirits, so for Christmas, a Weihnachtsakvavit comes on the market, which is slightly more than the usual Akvavit and each year is prepared with a different mixture of herbs. Who, therefore, really does keep tradition alive, the Christmas dinner for Weihnachtsakvavit.
