The Uppesittarkväll is basically meant to prepare the Christmas presents, decorate the Christmas tree, prepare the Christmas dinner and of course to write the Christmas rhymes, accompanied by a musical Christmas program on TV or radio, which is also rhyme a lot.

In reality Uppesitarkväll is also a family event with no children. This evening is basically the only Christmas theme, with good food and drink. For many Swedes, this is one of the most comfortable nights of the year, which is just connected with the final preparations for Christmas. No one will speak this evening about work or career, but pure comfort for granted . Take

The evening is usually very long, even if the Christmas tree relatively quickly and the packaging of gifts is also fast. The preparation of the Christmas dinner for the next day, however, so take some time, mainly because the preparation of the Christmas ham, the preparation of Jansson frestelse take final baking, sauces and preparations for the pegs a certain time.

And then belongs to a different course Uppesittarkväll Customs, which can cost his time, namely the letter of the Christmas rhymes for each package. This Christmas rhymes to give the recipient a hint about the contents of the package, but without giving away too much. One of the best known rhymes are found in a book Pipp Longstocking, as Tommy wrote for his Pappa following rhyme: " Den Här ska du ha om jibe, blir så du aldrig Kallsen mer ."
